To All to whom these presents shall come Know Ye that I George Duffield of Christiana hundred County of NewCastle and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have and do hereby manumit enfranchise set free and at full liberty my Negro Woman named Leah Vance aged now about Thirty five years from and after the full tenure and end of seven years from the date of these presents As also do hereby Manumit set free and at full liberty my Negro Girl Rachel daughter of the aforesaid Leah from and after the full term of twenty eight years from the date of these presents fully to be complete and ended she being now about one year old Both of which said Negroes Leah and Rachel are hereby Manumitted to be free and at full liberty from me my heirs executors administrators and assigns and from any and all person or persons claiming through me them or any of them after the reperation of the terms or times herein before mentioned. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this eleventh day of March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty. Geo. Duffield {seal}

State of Delaware NewCastle County Be it remembered that on this ___ day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty before the under signed one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Delaware in and for the County of NewCastle personally came George Duffield Esqr. and acknowledged the within Manumission to be his act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal at Wilmington this ___ day of March in the year of Our Lord onethousand eight hundred and twenty.
