Finding Your Delaware Roots

This blog was created as a clearinghouse for African American research in Delaware. We will be posting transcriptions of historical records relating to the history of slavery and freedom seeking in Delaware in order to tell the whole story of the history of the state and to help people to trace their African American roots. These records include a large number of manumissions, legal documents in which slave holders freed their enslaved people, found in County deed books.
