Manumission Jacob Williams from Charles H Haughey 1824

To all whom it may concern, be it Known that I Charles H Haughey of St Georges hundred in the county of New castle and state of Delaware for divers good causes, and considerations me thereunto Moveing, do hereby release from slavery liberate, manumit and set Free, and by these presents do hereby release from slavery, liberate manumit and set free, my negro man Jacob Williams, to be free from me and from all and every person claiming or to claim, under me, from and after the day of the date hereof, he being now about Twenty nine years of age. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Twenty four. Charles H Haughey {seal}

New Castle County Ss Before the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared Charles H Haughey, partie to the above instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed, for the purpose therein mentioned, and desired it might be recorded as such. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty seventh day of December A.D. one thousand eight hundred and Twenty Four. John Jansen
