Know all men, by these presents, That I Jesse Higgins of Newcastle County in the State of Delaware Do hereby manumit exonerate and set free John Lewis and Perry Lownes both Mullato Slaves late the property of Doctor Sluyter Bonehill deceased from and after the expiration of six years from the first day of october last but without prejudice to their and each of their services until said period at which period last mentioned John Lewis will be about twenty seven years of age and Perry about twenty six years of age Witness my hand and seal the day of April Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine.
