Manumission Negro Elzey from John Burton 1823

State of Delaware Sussex County To wit To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting know ye that I John Burton of George Town in the county and state aforesaid for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving do hereby manumit and set free my negro man Elzey who is now twenty one years of age after serving me my heirs executors administrators or assigns the term of nine years from the date of these presents and I do hereby manumit discharge and set free the said negro man Elzey after the term of nine years afsd from all claim or claims of me my heirs executors administrators or assigns forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three 1823.
