Manumission Mullattoes Hannah & Sarah From Walter Dulany

Know all Men by these presents that I Walter Dulany of Kent County in the State of Delaware, do hereby manumit and set free from slavery, and at the several periods herein after mentioned for that purpose will give up all right and title which I now have to the services of the several slaves hereafter mentioned that is to say, I do hereby manumit & set free a certain mullatto a certain Mulatto Woman named Hannah, reserving nevertheless to myself my executors administrators and assigns the right to the services and labour of the said Mulatto Woman named Hannah for and during and until the full end and term of seventeen years from the day of the  date of these presents; and further that I the said Walter Dulany do hereby manumit and set free a certain infant girl child named Sarah Daughter of the said Hannah aged say about three months, reserving nevertheless to myself my executors administrators and assigns the right to the services and labour of the said infant girl child named Sarah for and during and until the full end and term of Twenty Eight years rom the day of the date of these presents. And it is hereby expressly understood and agreed by me the said Walter Dulany that the above mentioned mulatto Woman named Hannah is to serve me my Executors Administrators or assigns, without wages or compensation, for the full term of seventeen years from the day of the date of these presents, & no longer; and that at the expiration of the said term, and not sooner, she the said Hannah is to be absolutely free and discharged of and from, all and all manner of services and labour which in the mean time she may owe to me my Executors Administrators or assigns, and shall and may then be entitled to all the privileges and immunities which free Negroes are by the Laws of the said State of Delaware entitled to enjoy. And also that the above mentioned infant girl child named Sarah is to serve me my executors administrators or assigns without wages or compensation, for the term of Twenty eight years from the day of the date of these presents, and no longer; and that at the expiration of the said term from all and all manner of services and labour which in the mean time she may owe to me my Executors Administrators or assigns and shall and may then enjoy and be entitled to all the privileges and immunities to which free Negroes are by the Laws and Customs of the State of Delaware are entitled In testimony whereof I the said Walter Dulany have hereunto set my hand & seal this twenty fifth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Six.

State of Delaware Kent County Sst} I do hereby certify that on the twenty fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six, came Walter Dulany before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the Peace for said County and acknowledged the above & foregoing manumition to be his act and deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned, Given under my hand and seal at Dover the day and year aforesaid.
