Manumission Negro Anthony from Henry M. Ridgely
Know all men by these presents that I H. M. Ridgely, of the Town of Dover, Kent County, and State of Delaware, have manumitted enfranchised and set free from slavery and do, by these presents manumit enfranchise and set free from slavery on the first day of April which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five, my negro male slave named Tony or Anthony, who is now about the age of ten years and who is healthy and no ways decrepit; reserving nevertheless to myself my executors administrators and assigns full right to the person and services and labour of the said negro Tony or Anthony as a slave until the said first day of April in the said year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five. In Testimony whereof I, the said H. M. Ridgely, have hereunto set my hands and seal this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Ten.

In the presence of Nathaniel Boyer, Wm. P. Russel,
State of Delaware Kent County Ss.} Be it remembered that on this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten, H. M. Ridgely, party to the foregoing deed of manumission, personally appeared before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Kent County aforesaid, and did acknowledge the said manumission to be his act and deed. In Testimony whereof I, the said Justice, have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year in this behalf above written. John Lowber
