Manumission of Mariah Warren (n) to Shadrach Raughley 1834

Know all men by these presents, That I Shadrach Raughley of Kent County in the State of Delaware from motives of benevolence, and humanity, have manumitted, and do hereby manumit and set free from slavery my negro woman Mariah Warren, aged about thirty three years and six months as nearly as can be ascertained. And I do hereby give, grant and release unto the said Mariah Warren all my right title and claim, of, in and to her person, labour and service, and of in and to the estate and property, which she may hereafter acquire or obtain, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty first day of October, A.D. one thousand, eight hundred and thirty four 1834. Kent County ss Be it remembered that on this thirty first day of October, A.D. 1834 Shadrach Raughley, party to the foregoing indenture, personally came before me Jacob Biddle, one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Kent County afsd. and did acknowledge the said Indenture to be his deed Given under my hand at Dover the day and year afsd. J. Biddle
