Manumission Negro Barbary & others from Samuel Warren Senr.

Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Warren the Elder of Murderkill hundred Kent County in the state of Delaware for divers good causes & considerations me hereunto moving hath manumitted liberated emancipated and set free, and by these presents doth manumitt liberate emancipate and set free the following negro slaves the property of me the said Samuel Warren on the day and times herein after mentioned to wit,

Negro Barbary to be free and at full liberty from and after the date hereof, Jane to be free and at full liberty at the expiration of six years from the date hereof and her child Martha to be free and at full liberty at the expiration of twenty three years and six months from the date hereof reserving to myself and my heirs executors and administrators and assigns the service and labor of the said negroes Jane and Martha until the expiration of the afsd. Time or term of servitude. And I hereby declare the said negroes to be free to all intents and purposes after the Expiration of said time or term of servitude and that they shall thereafter be capable of enjoying all the rights and previledges that free negroes or mulattoes may or can enjoy agreeable to the laws of the state of Delaware – In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand & affixed my seal the twenty fifth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten. 1810.

State of Delaware Kent County Ss} Be it remembered that on the twenty fifth day of October one thousand eight hundred and ten, appeared Samuel Warren the elder before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the peace for said County, and acknowledged the within manumation to be his act and deed for the use and purpose Therein mentioned. Given under my hand and seal at Dover the day and year aforesaid. John Lowber
