As in the presents of Allmighty God in whom my Soul Existeth John Dickenson of Talbot County being in perfect Health Mind and Memory and Considering the Unsertainty of this Life which must and will be yealded up to Death, I have thought good to make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament hereby making null and void all other Will or Wills by me Maid either by Word or Wrighting Do make this my last Will in Manor and form following Vizt.
I Do Commit my Soul into the Hands ^of God that gave it and as for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth from were it Came To be Decently Buried at the Disristion of my Executors hereafter named and as to the Temproll Estate wherewith it pleased God to Bestow on me after my Just Debts and Funerall Expenses being first payed and Discharged I Give and Bequeath in Manor and from following ex.
Item, I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Daniel Dickinson a parsell of Land lying in Dorchester County being part of a
tract of Land Caleb Pozzell which Land I Give to my said Son Daniel Dickinson and his Heirs for Ever.
Item, I Give unto my Son William Dickinson a parsel of Land lying in Queen Anns County beeing part of a tract of Land called Scarbrough which Land I Give to my Son William Dickinson and his Heirs for Ever.
Item, I Give and Bequeath unto my Son John Dickinson a parsel of Land which I now Live on being part of a tract of Land Caled Robley, and one other small tract of Land Caled Dickinsons Soile together with a small parce of Land which I bought of Samuel Dickinson Caled Robley, which Lands I Give unto my Son John Dickinson and his Heirs for Ever, but if my said Son John Dickinson should Depart this Life before he Comes to age and without Issue of his Body then my Will is that my Son William Dickinson have the above Lands to him and his Heirs for Ever.
Item, I Give to my Daughter Rebeckah Dickinson a Negro Girl Caled Sinah, allso Six Silver Spoons and Tea- spoons and tongs and all the China thats in the House.
Item, I Give unto my Daughter Rashell Dickinson a Negro Girl Sarey and my large Silver Tankard, but if either of my said Daughters should Depart this Life before Marrage then my Will is that the Survivor of them Too have all the above Silver China and Negroes.
Item, I Give unto my Son Daniel Dickinson a parsell of Land that I bought of John Ash and wife during her Life &c and my Will is that my Son Daniel have all that I have here afore Gave him which he has in his possession without any Words.
Item, I Give to my Son William Dickinson a Negroe Boy Robin and a Negro Girl Eva to Son William and his Disposal.
Item, I Give to my Son John Dickinson a Negroe Boy George and a Negro Girl Sidney to Son John Dickinson and his Disposall.
I Give all the Remainder of my Estate that’s not already Given to be Equaly Devided Between my five Children namely Daniel, William, Rebeckah, John and Rachel Dickinson &c.
Lastly I do Nominate Constitute and appoint my two Sons Daniel and William Dickinson my Executors of this my last Will and Testament willing them to do the same. To ??? ??? ??? professed? In Witness whereof I have Set my Hand and affixed my Seal this Eighteenth day of December 1752, but if my Son William shall not be in the Country then Son Daniel he to be ????? John Dickinson {seal}
Sealed Signed and Acknowledged to Be my Last Will in the presents of Samuel Prichard his mark. James Barrett his mark. Mary Martin her mark.
On the Back of the aforegoing Will was this Written, Vizt.
Talbot County, to wit. Febry 9th 1753. Then Mary Martin one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Will made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that She saw the Testator John Dickinson Sign the said Will and heard him publish and Delare the same to be his last Will and Testament, That at the time of his so doing he was to the best of her apprehension of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory and that She Subscribed her name as a witness to the same Will in the presence of the said Testator and at his Request. before me Jere: Nicols Depty Comry of the County aforesaid
Talbot County to wit February 9th 1753. James Barrett one of the Subscribing Witnesses to this Will made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that he saw the Testator John Dickinson Sign the same Will and heard him publish and Declare the same to be his last Will and Testament in the Sight presense and hearing of Samuel Prichard since Deposed one of the other Subscribing Witnesses to the Will, That at the time of his so doing he was to the best of the apprehension of this Deponent of Sound and disposing Mind and Memory and that he this Deponent and the said Samuel Prichard did Subscribe their names Respectively to the said Will in the presense of the said Testator and at his Request – before me Jere: Niols Depty Comry of Talbot County.
