I Joseph Jenkins of the County of Kent on Delaware do hereby manumit and set (absolutely) free my Negro Man called Caleb aged about thirty years in such Manner that he may and shall be at his own Disposal; shall be deemed adjudged and taken for and as a Freeman to all Intents and Purposes, without the least Molestation or Hindrance of Me or any other Person or Persons whatsoever. And further I do remit release and forever quit lame Right or Demand of and to the said Caleb, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this seventeenth Day of the first Month in the Year of our blessed Lord, one thousand seven hundred and seventy five. 1775.
