To all People to whom these presents shall com We James Anderson of Kent County on Delaware yeoman and Ann his wife send Greeting Whereas we the said James Anderson and Ann his wife being possessed of a Girl  Born of the body of a Negroe Woman but supposed to be begotten by a white man which said Girl according to the Custom of the Land is held in Slavery and bondage and we being Convinced by the inshining Light of Gods eternal Spirit which hath taught and doth teach us that God is no Respector of Persons but that he hath made of one Blood all Nations of People that Dwell upon the face of the whole earth which also teacheth us to undo the Heavy Burdens and to Lett the Oppressed go free and heal every yoke and in a Word to do unto all men as we would do unto us Now Know Ye that we the said James Anderson and Ann his wife being of a Good and Perfect mind without fraud or Deceit for Divers good causes and Considerations us hereunto moveing and in Obedience to the most high god Have given granted and Confirmed unto the above said Girl Named Jane aged ten years the fifth Day of the third month last past) all our right Title Claim Interest, use Possession and Demand of in or to the said Girl named Jane her Labour or Service or any Part thereof after the said Jane shall arrive at the age of Sixteen years which will be in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Two, But that the the Said Jane after her being of ^the age of Sixteen years as above said shall enjoy her Liberty and freedom freely Peaceably and Quietly for ever with out any manner of reclaim Challenge or Contradiction of us the said James Anderson and Ann his Wife our Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns or of any other Person or Persons by any means Title, or procurement, in any manner or wise in our Names to be given ???? and or Done in time to Come so that neither we the said James Anderson and Ann his wife our heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns or any other Person or Persons by us for us or in our Names or in the Name or Names of us or any of us at any Time or Times after the said Jane shall arrive to the age of Sixteen years as above Said May ask Claim Challenge or Demand in or to the said Jane her Labour or Service or any Part thereof but from all action of Right, Title, Claim, Interest, use, Possession, & Demand of in or to the Said Jane her Labour or Service or any thing arising therefrom or any Part thereof we and every of us, to be utterly excluded and for ever Debarred By these presents In Witness whereof we the Said James Anderson and Ann his wife have Interchangeably sett our hands and Seals this eighteenth Day of the fourth month Anno Dom: One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty six 1766.
