Know all men by these presents that I James Wooleyhand of Queen Anns County and State of Maryland for the consideration of the Sum of eighty seven dolls & fifty cts current money to me in hand paid by Joel Clements of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained, sold and delivered, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and deliver unto the said Joel Clements a  negro girl named Tena Louissa aged eight years on the first day of October next, to serve until she is thirty four years of age and then to be free with her posterity at the same age;  which Said negro I will warrant and defend to the Said Joel Clemments his executors, admrs and assigns, against me, my Executors admrs, and against every other person or persons whomsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five. 1835. State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit On this thirtieth day of June 1835 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County, appears James Wooleyhands afsd and acknowledges the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such case made and provided. I hereby asign over all my right, title and clame to the girld named in the within bill of sale to my father Joel Clements senior of the State of Delaware in Kent County. And I do hearby acknowledge that I have received the sum of ninety six dollars for the same as witness whereof I set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of August eighteen hundred and Thirty five. 1835.
