Manumission of Negro Eliza 1835

Whereas from divers considerations I have concluded, and by these presents do, of my own free will and accord, manumit and set free forever, a certain female slave, by me purchased from Saml. Dixson, of Camden Dela. On the 26th of February 1826 named Eliza and from this date to be and remain free as aforesaid. Given under my hand & seal this the 29th day of July eighteen hundred A.D. The State of Delaware ss. Be it remembered that on the twenty ninth day of July A.D. 1835 Samuel Virden party to the above deed of manumission issued personally appeared before me Samuel M. Harrington an associate Judge of the State of Delaware and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed. Given under my hand at Dover the day and year aforesaid. S. M. Harrington
