This Indenture made this seventh day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty eight Witnesseth that Dagworth Derickson and Robert B. Robinson Trustees of the Poor of Sussex County have put and bound and by these presents do put and bind George Burton negro now the age of seven years and eight months as nearly as can be ascertained as an apprentice to Daniel L. Hazzard’s  and his Heirs for and during and until the full end and term of thirteen years and four months from day of the date here of: the said George Burton negro to serve the said Daniel L. Hazzard and his heirs as an apprentice for the term aforesaid or until he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years if that shall happen sooner than the expiration of the term aforesaid and no longer: And the said Daniel L. Hazzard and his heirs do hereby contract covenant and agree to teach or cause the said George Burton to be taught the art trade or mystery of farming to the best of their skill knowledge and ability, to well support and clothe the said George Burton Neg during the term of his apprenticeship and at the regular expiration of the said term to furnish the said George Burton Neg with two suits of clothes suitable to his condition.

In Witness where of the said Dagworthy Derickson and Robert B. Robinson Trustees and the said Daniel L.
