To all whom it may concern be it known that I Sarah Baynard of Kent County in the State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations thereunto as also in further consideration of six cents current money to me in hand paid Have released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free my negro man named Stephen Fountain when he shall arrive at the age of Twenty eight years he being now twenty four years old and I do declare the said boy to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs executors administrators or assigns for ever after the expiration of the time afforesaid in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9 day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six. Kent County S.S. The State of Delaware On the 9th day of April A.D. eighteen hundred and thirty six personally appeared Sarah Baynard party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber one of the Justice of the peace in and for Kent County and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed for the purpose within mentioned and the negro within named to be manumitted and discharged from all services to me or to any claiming under me after the time of servitude above mentioned and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before.
