To all whom it may concern be it known that I Margaret Baynard of Kent County in the State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me moving thereunto as also in further consideration of six cents current money to me, in hand paid have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free, my negro woman Sarah Fountain, and that part of her issue which she has with her at this time viz Nancy Fountain, James Fountain, Alford Fountain, Robert Fountain, John Fountain, Margaret Fountain and Sarah Ann Fountain children of the above named Sarah Fountain – all of whim I do declare to be free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever from this time. In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty eighth day of march eighteen hundred and thirty five. Margaret Baynard {seal}

Signed, Sealed and delivered in the Presence of Joshua Cranor

Kent County ss State of Delaware on the twenty eighth day of March 1835 personally appeared Margaret Baynard party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber one of the Justice of the Peace in and for Kent County and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the several negroes within named to be manumitted and dis= charged from all service to me or any claiming under me and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided, acknowledged before me.
