To all whom it may concern be it known that I John Baynard of Kent County in the State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations thereunto as also in further consideration of six cents current money to me in hand paid Have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted, and set free my negro man named Green Fountain when he shall arrive at the age of thirty two years he being now twenty nine years and seven months old and I do declare the said boy to be free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs, executors, administrators or assigns for ever after the expiration of the time afforesaid, In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five. Kent County Ss The State of Delaware} On the seventeenth day of September 1835 personally appeared John Baynard party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber one of our Justice of the Peace in and for Kent County and acknowledge the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro within named to be mannumitted and discharged from all services to me or to any claiming under me after the time of servitude above mentioned and to be free and manumitted according to the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided acknowledged before.
