Know all men by these Presents that I John Lewis of Kent County and State of Delaware from Motives of benevolence and humanity have manumitted and do hereby manumit and Set free from Slavery my Negro man Henry Fisher whom I Purchased at a Sale of prisoners at the Jail of Kent County aged about twenty one years on condition however that he do forthwith bind himself by Indenture to Serve me my heirs executors and administrators or assigns for and during the full term of eight years from the day of the date of these presents. And I do hereby give grant and release unto the Said Henry Fisher all my right title and Claim of in & to his person labour and Service and of and in and to the Estate and property which he may acquire after the expiration of the Said term of eight years Excepting only his Service in Manner and during the term above mentioned. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 27th day of May 1834. John Lewis {seal}

Kent County Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Said County John Lewis the Same whose Name is Signed to the above manumission and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and due form of Law. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 27th day of May 1834. J. Biddle
