Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Dormond Mispillion hundred Kent County and State of Delaware for divers Good causes and Considerations me hereunto moving do hereby manumit Enfranchise and absolutely Set free my two negro women named as follows to wit Zelpha Dormond aged about thirty four years also Trephina Dormond aged about thirty two years both of the Said negro women to be free and at their perfect liberty from the Sealing and delivering of this Manumission Harrett Dormond Daughter of Zelpha aged nineteen years to Serve four years from the date of the Manumission and then to be free and at her full liberty also James Dormon Son of Zelpha aged fifteen years to Serve Eight years from the date and then to be free and at his perfect liberty also Lydia Dormond daughter of Zelpha aged thirteen years to Serve ten years from the date and then to be free and at her perfect liberty also Robert Dormond Son of Trephena aged thirteen years to Serve ten years from the date and then to be free and at his perfect liberty also Job Dormond Son of Trephena aged Eleven years to Serve twelve years from the date and then to be free and at his perfect liberty, also George W. Dormond aged nine years to Serve fourteen years from the date and then to be free and at his perfect liberty and I the aforesaid Elizabeth Dormond do hereby warrent and defend the liberty and freedom of the aforesaid Negroes to wit, Harriett James Lydia Robert, Job and George W Dormond from the lawfull claim of me my heirs executors and Administrators and every other person or persons Claiming by from or under me will warrent and forever defend. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal this first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one 1831. Elizabeth Dormon {seal}
Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Thomas Dormond Molton Rickards
Kent County SS., Before me Molton Rickards one of the Justices of the peace in and for the aforesaid County on the first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one, Personally appeared the within named Elizabeth Dormond in her proper person and did acknowledge and declare the within manumission of her negroes to wit Harriett, James, Lydia, Robert, Job and George W Dormand therein named and mentioned to be her act and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal, Milton Rickard’s {seal}
