This Indenture made this Sixth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty one Between Solomon Mumford of Dover hundred Kent County and State of Delaware and Lucy his wife of the one part and Isaac Gibbs of Dover hundred of county and State aforesaid of the other part, Whereas the aforesaid Solomon Mumford being lawfully Seized in his demesne as of fee of in and to a parcel of Land Situate in the forest of Dover hundred Kent County and State aforesaid is now about by these presents to grant Bargain and Sell a part of Said land adjacent to the road leading from wrights red house to George Town to the aforesaid Isaac Gibbs Negro his heirs and assigns forever in fee Simple.

Now this Indenture witnessed that the said Solomon Mumford and Lucy his wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of eighteen dollars lawful money of the State of Delaware to them in hand paid by the Said Isaac Gibbs at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof they the Said Solomon Mumford and Lucy his wife do hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and discharge the Said Isaac Gibbs Negro his heirs executors and administrators forever Hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff Release and confirm unto the Said Isaac Gibbs his heirs and assigns forever All that certain piece or parcel of Land Situate in Dover hundred and county aforesaid and which is comprised and contained within the following metes and bounds that is to Say Beginning at a ditch and on the north Side of the Road leading from Wrights Red house to George Town at a corner of Daniel Greens land and running thence with Said Road South Eighty one degrees and one quarter west forty four and five tenths perches to a Stump which was in a line of Said Mumford land but now a corner thence North Eight degrees and three quarters west Eleven perches and one half to a stake for a corner thence North Eighty one degrees and one quarter East thirty eight perches and five tenths to the aforesaid ditch and thence with Said ditch to the place of Beginning Containing within those bounds three acres of land more or less with the appurtenances thereunto belonging together with the appertenances Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders yearly and other Rents issues profits and Services of the aforesaid land and premises hereby Bargained and Sold and every part and parcel thereof and also all the houses orchards fields fences woods underwoods Timber and trees ways waters and water courses and Improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and also all the Estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever both in law and Equity or otherwise of them the Said Solomon Mumford and Lucy his wife of in or unto the aforesaid three acres of Land premises and every part and parcel thereof To Have and To Hold all and Singular the aforesaid land and premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appertenance unto the Said Isaac Gibbs Negro his heirs and assigns forever To the only proper use and behoof of him the Said Isaac Gibbs his heirs and assigns forever and the Said Solomon Mumford and Lucy his wife the three acres of Land and premises herein before granted Bargained and Sold to the Said Isaac Gibbs his heirs and assigns forever against themselves the said Solomon Mumford and Lucy his wife and their heirs and against all and every other person or persons claiming or hereafter to claim from by or under him them her or any of them Shall and will warrant and forever by these presents defend, In witness whereof the said Solomon Mumford and Lucy his wife have hereunto Set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written. The State of Delaware Kent County SS Be it remembered that on this Sixth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one personally appeared before me Samuel M Harrington Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of Delaware Solomon Mumford and Lucy his wife grantors in this Indenture named and Severally acknowledged the Said Indenture to be their act and Deed respectively. And I further Certify that the Said Lucy wife of the said Solomon Mumford being the Same day privately examined by me apart from her husband did acknowledge that She executed the Said Indenture willingly without compulsion or threats or fear of her husbands displeasure. witness my hand the day and year aforesaid.
