Know all men by these presence That I Shadrach Raughley of Kent County in the State of Delaware from motives of benevolence and humanity have manumitted and hereby do manumit and set free from Slavery my negro man Jack Warren, aged about twenty seven years from and after the seventh day of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and thirty seven; And I do hereby give grant and release unto the said Jack Warren, all my right title and claim of, in, and to his person and labour, and of, in and to, the estate and property which he may acquire from and after the afsd. seventh day of May in the year aforesaid. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five. 1835. Shadrach Roughly {seal}

Personally appeared before the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace for said County Shadrach Rawley the same whose name is signed to the above manumission, and acknowledged the same to be his Act & Deed According to the thrue intent and meaning thereof in due form of law.
