Know all men by these presents that I Ayres Stockley of the county of Kent & State of Delaware do hereby manumit set free & forever discharge from bondage my Negro man named Robert the Son of Ezekiel & Esther formerly the Slaves of my father Charles Stockley Esqr. Dec’d late of Accomac County State of Virginia he being now in the twenty sixth year of his age Robert was brought into this State from the State of Virginia under authority of an act of the General Assembly entitled “An act to authorize Ayres Stockley of Kent county to bring into this State from the State of Virginia two certain Negro boys slaves” passed at the January Session 1829 & is now by these presents forever discharged from all Servitude to me my heirs executors administrators or assigns from and after the date of this instrument. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this twenty fifth day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & thirty two 1832. A. Stockley {seal}
