George T. Fisher Manumission to Negro Caroline 1831

Know all men by these presents that I George T. Fisher of Kent County in the State of Delaware do hereby manumit release and Set free my negro Girl Caroline Clayton Coombe aged nineteen years to be free from the date herein after writen the Said negro Girl is her own woman and that She is free from me my heirs executors and administrators or from any person or person whomsoever may Claim by from or under me and for a further confirmation thereof it is my request that this manumission Should be recorded in the recorders office. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this fourth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and thirty one. George T. Fisher {seal}

Kent County ss. State of Delaware Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for Kent County George T. Fisher and acknowledged that he did Sign Seal and deliver the above as his own voluntary act and Deed and desired it might be recorded as such. J. Biddle
