Mary Jarrell Manumission to Negro Nancy & others 1828

State of Delaware Kent County Ss Be it Known that I Mary Jarrell widow of Murderkill Hundred in Said County for divers Good Causes and Considerations in me thereunto moving have Manumitted Emancipated liberated and Set free a certain Negro Slave a woman of the name of Nancy now of the age of thirty one years and twenty days as she was Bound on the fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety Seven and also a certain Slave negro woman of the name of Vilator now of the age of Seventeen years three months and twenty Nine days Reserving to my Self my heirs Executors administrators or assigns the Service and labour of the Said Negro violator for and during the term of ten years and Eight months and one day from the day of the date hereof or until she the said negro Vilator shall arrive to the full age of twenty Eight years but if She the Said negro Vilator Shall abscond herself from the Service of my Self the Said Mary Jarrell my heirs Executors administrators or assigns that then and in Such case the Said Negro Vilator So absconding * shall make good all such loss time by so absconding by Servitude and labour after the Expiration of the Said time for her to Serve as Afforesaid and also a Certain Slave Negro boy named Samuel now of the age of fourteen years ten months and twenty days Reserving to my Self my heirs Executors Administrators or assigns the Service of the Said Samuel for the term of thirteen years one month and ten days or until the Said by Shall arrive to the full age of twenty Eight years and in case of the Said Samuel absconding himself he is to be debt with as in the above cases of the Said Vilator and the Said  Nancy is now free and Set at liberty from this time hence forth to all intense and purposes. State of Delaware Kent County Sst I Certify that May Jarrell the party named in the within manumissation personaly appeared before me Barratt P. Conner one of the Justices of the peace for Said County on this day and acknowledged the Same to be her act and Deed and delivered it for the purposes therein mentioned in witness whereof I have Set my had and Seal this 5th day of May 1828. Barratt P. Conner
