Know all men by these presents that Henry Hofaker of the County of Kent & State ^of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do manumit enfranchise and absolutely Set free a certain negro Girl named Elizabeth Warren to be free and at her perfect liberty from this Day the 2d. of December 1830 And the aforesaid Henry Hofaker do warrent and defend the liberty & Freedom of the above named Elizabeth Warren negro from the lawful claim or claims of me my heirs Executors or administrators and every other person or persons claiming or to claim by from or under me. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the 2d of December A.D. 1830. Henry Hoffecker {seal}
Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of Jacob D Callaway
Kent County, Personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in for Said County Henry Hofaker the Same whose name is mentioned & signed to the above Manumission and acknowledged the Same to be his act and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof according to due form of Law. In witness whereof I have here unto Set my hand & Seal this 2d day of December A.D. 1830. J. Biddle
