Dr James Jones Manumission to Negro Perry Carrol 1829

To all whom it may concern, This is to certify that I James Jones Phycican in Duck Creek hundred in the county of Kent and State of Delaware do hereby manumit release and set free my negro man Perry Carrol aged 30 years the 17th day of July 1828 and that on the first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and twenty nine, said negro is his own man and that he is free from me my heirs executors and administrators and for a further confirmation thereof it is my request that this manumission should be recorded in the recorders office. In Testimony of which I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine 1829. James Jones {seal}

Personally came James Jones Physician before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of Said county and acknowledged the above manumission. Francis Hover
