Manumission Sundry Negroes from Curtis Jacobs 1822

Know all men by these presents that I Curtis Jacobs do emasepate & set free all the underneath mentioned negroes at such & such ages as I shall mention against there different names vis. Levisey to be free in the year of 1844, Sidney to be free in the year of Sold David Houston 1846 my boy Moze to be free in the year of 1848. Samuel to be free in the year of 1851. Ann to be free in the year of 1852. Tibbedo to be free in the year of 1849. Luke to be free in the year of 1850. 1 Girl I sold John Wilson Carpenter by the named Betsey to be free in the year of 1846. Negro Girl Kitty sold Stansbury Jacobs to be free in the year of 1848. Negro James to be free in the year of 1854. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the eighteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two. N.B. It is my intention that each of the above mentioned negroes shall be free on the first day of January in each of the respective years mentioned to their names Curtis Jacobs.

Sussex County Ss. Personally came before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County Curtis  Jacobs Esquire, the Grantor named in the above foregoing Indenture and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and desired it might be recorded as such. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 16th day of June 1822.
