Negros Philip & Hester his wife Manumission from Elizabeth Jones 1811

Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Jones of Murderkill hundred Kent County and State of Delaware for divers Good causes and considerations do by these presents manumit librate and set free the following Negroes to wit, a Negro man by the  name of Philip chase aged about Twenty nine years and Negro Hester wife of the said Philip aged about twenty-seven years and I do hereby further agree that the said Philip and Hester his wife from the twenty fifth day of December one thousand Eight hundred and Sixteen shall be entitled to and enjoy all the rights privileges and comunites which a free Negro or a Mulatto may or can have or enjoy by the laws of this State. In Testimony whereof I haver hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this sixteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and Eleven 1811. Elizabeth Jones {seal}

Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Samuel Warren Senr. John Lowber

Kent County SS. Be it remembered that on the Sixteenth day of october one thousand eight hundred and Eleven came the within mentioned Elizabeth Jones before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the peace in and for Said County and acknowledged the within Manumission to be her act and Deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned. Given under my hand and seal at Dover the day and year aforesaid. John Lowber
