State of Delaware Kent County SS. Know all men by these presents That we Saryan Clifton Mary Clifton and Hezekiah Clifton of the County of Kent and State aforesaid for divers good causes and considerations us hereunto moveing do hereby manumit Enfranchise and absolutely set our Negro man named Aaron from and after the first day of February next at which time he Will be about thirty three years of age and then to be free and at his perfect liberty and we the aforesaid Saryan Clifton Mary Clifton and Hezekiah Clifton do hereby warrent and defend the liberty and freedom of the aforesaid Aaron from the lawful claims of us and each of our heirs Executors administrators and every other person Claiming by from or under us. Kent County S.S. of Delaware Before me Molton Rickard’s one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace in and for the aforesaid County on the thirty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty eight Personally appeared the within named Saryan Clifton Mary Clifton and Hezekiah Clifton in their proper persons and did acknowledge and declare the within Manumission of their negro Man named Aaron therein Named and mentioned to be their Act and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day & date above written.
