Manumission of Negroes Roda & Henry from Samuel Warren Senr 1835

Know all men by these presence, That I Samuel Warren Senior of Kent County and State of Delaware did in December in the Year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty one set at liberty my negro girl named Rhoda then my slave, who was born the twenty second day of November in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and three. Also my negro boy named Henry did in December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty four set at liberty, he was bornd the twenty third day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and six and that I do by these presents absolutely manumit and enfranchise them the said negroes Rhoda and Henry and grant to them full freedom. Witness my hand and seal the third day of August eighteen hundred and thirty five. Samuel Warren Senr. {seal}

Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Solomon T Warren Samuel Warren Jr.

Kent County SS On the 13th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five personally appeared the above named Samuel Warren Sr before me a Justice of the Peace for Kent County aforesaid, and acknowledged that the above manumission of Rhoda & Henry therein named is his Act and Deed. As witness my hand. Samuel Warren Senr. Samuel Grace J.P.

I received this manumission to record the twentieth day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five. H. Todd Recr.
