This Indenture Made this the first day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty seven Witnesseth that Marin Hudson (Neg) of Cedar Creek hundred and Sussex County has put and bound and by these presents do put and bind his son Garrison Henry a minor now the age of Eight years and four months as nearly as can be ascertained – as an apprentice to Moses Robinson (neg) of Broad Kiln hundred Sussex County to him his executors Administrators and assigns for and during and untill the full end and time of Twelve years and Eight months from the date of the hereof – the same Garrison Henry to serve the said Moses Robinson heirs his executors Administrators and assigns as an apprentice for the term aforesaid or until he shall arrive at the age of Twenty one years if that shall happen sooner than the expiration of the time aforesaid and no longer. And the said Moses Robinson for him- self executors Administrators and assigns do hereby contract, covenant and agree to teach or cause the said Garrison Henry to be taught the art trade or mystery of Farming to the best of his Skill knowledge and ability and to give to the said Garrison a suit of clothes worth twenty dollars or twenty dollars to well support and clothe the said Garrison Henry during the time of his apprenticeship and at the regular expiration of the said time to furnish the said Garrison Henry with two suits of clothes suitable to his condition. In witness whereof the said Marin Hudson and the said Moses Robinson have hereunto in the presence of each other set their hands and seals the day and year herein before first written. This Indenture was lodged in the Recorders office in and for Sussex County on the 8th day of January 1848. W.H. Swiggett Recorder
State of Delaware Sussex County SS. Know all men by these presents that I Moses Robinson for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy Dollars to me in hand paid by David Pepper have assigned transfered and set over and by these presents do assign, transfer and set over unto the said David Pepper his heirs Executors administrators and assigns the unexpired term of service of Garrison Henry negro an indentured apprentice. And I the said David Pepper do hereby covenant contract and agree to perform all the stipulations contained in the original Indenture on the part of the said Moses Robinson Witness our hands and seals this 11th day of December A.D. 1852.
