Negro Sealeah from Zadok C. Clark 1827

Know all men by these presents that I Zadok C Clark of Kent County and State of Delaware for divers good causes and Considerations me thereunto moving doe hereby enfranchise and set free my negro woman Sealeah she being about thirty five years of age and She the Said Negro to be free and at her liberty the 25th of next December 1827 I do hereby and forever defend the aforesaid Sealeah agreeable to the full meaning of these presents from the lawful claim of every person or persons whatsoever claiming or to Claim her the afsd. Sealeah Negro by from or under me my heirs executors administrators and every of them as witness my hand and Seal this Seventh day of February 1827. Zadok C. Clark {seal}

Kent County State of Delaware ss Before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for Kent County Personally appeared Zadock C Clark and acknowledged the above manumission to be his act and Deed and the afsd. Sealeah to be free and at her own liberty at the expiration of the aforesaid time as witness my hand and Seal this Seventh day of February 1827. Chas. Kimmey {seal}
