Manumission Negro Samuel from Samuel Graham 1826

Know all men by these presents That I Samuel Graham of the count of Kent and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations by me thereunto moving do hereby Enfranchise and set free and at his liberty my Negro Man Named Samuel Turner formerly belonged in the Estate of Jessee Turner Dec’d. about five feet five inches high yellow complexsion Bow leged some what short in his speach but not Saucy he being thirty four years and ten months old at this date I set free and discharge the Said Samuel Turner negro the Eleventh day of October next and I do hereby warrant and forever defend his freedom from my heirs Exr adms and assigns and Every of them as witness my hand and Seal this 12 day of August 1826. Attest Samuel Graham {seal}

Kent County & State of Delaware Personally appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for Kent County xand State afforesaid Samuel Graham and did acknowledge the above manumission to be his act and Deed and the affd. negro Samuel to be free and at his own liberty at the Expiration of the afforesaid Mentioned time as witness my hand and Seal this 21st day of Sept. in year of 1826.
