Manumission Negro Hester Gibbs from Richard Green 1798

Know all men by these Presents That I Richard Green of Lewes & Rehoboth Hundred in the County of Sussex in the State of Delaware being now the Sole Owner and having the entire and exclusive Right and Property of a Negro Woman named Hester Gibbs aged Thirty three years or thereabouts, Do, for certain good Reasons me thereunto moving, Manumit, Liberate, and fully set Free the said Negro Woman to be Hereafter known by the Name of Hester Gibbs and I do hereby declare, that from  and after the date hereof she shall be fully discharged from all and every Claim or claims of future service by or from me or my Heirs, Executors, Administrators, or Assigns, and also from & after the date hereof I do declare her to be at full Liberty to act and do for herself without being molested or hindered by me or my Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns or any other Person or Persons Claiming under me or them, or by any other Person or Persons whatsoever. In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the third day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Eight. Richard Green {seal}
