Negro Toney’s Manumission from Albertus Jacobs 1786

March the 3 day 1786 This is to let all Personal know that I Albert Jacobs Sets his Negro Toney free from all Person or Persons or other wise tha Shall Pay the Some of One hundred and Fifty Pounds and it shall Come Out of my State to him or my Executors. Albertus Jacobs {seal}

Sussex County viz I do hereby Certify that on the first day of May in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred & eighty Six the within instrument of writing purporting to be the Manumission of Negro Toney was proved in Open Court by ^ the Oaths(?) of William Stockley & Elizabeth Holland^ the Subscribing Evidences thereto and that William Holland & David Train Esquires on the Same day became Security for the Indemnification of the County as by Law directed.
