Manumission Negro George from Ann Dukes 1833

Know all me by these presents that I Ann Dukes of Nanticoke Hundred in Sussex County and State of Delaware on this first day of February one thousand eight and thirty three do manumit and set free a Certain negro Boy named George late the property of Isaac Dukes, deceased, in manner and form following to wit the said Negro George to serve me my heirs Executors Administrators and assigns the full term of eight years from the date hereof, and then to be free and enjoy all the preveleges and emunities of free negroes or mulatos in this State. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year first above written. Ann Dukes {seal}

Sussex County Ss State of Delaware Personally came before me one of the  Justices of the peace in and for the said County Ann Dukes of the County aforesaid and acknowledged the above and foregoing Instrument to be her free Voluntary act In Witness I have hereunto set my hand the twenty third day of March A.D. 1833 T Layton J. This Manumission was lodged in the Recorders office in and for Sussex County on the thirtieth day of January Eighteen hundred and thirty four P.W. Kollock Recorder
