Know all men by these presents that I Betsey Wingate of the County of Sussex and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do manumit my Negro Girl Grace aged Sixteen years, to be her own free woman the first day of January in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and Nineteen and for her the said negro woman Grace to enjoy her freedom and all the benefits of a free negro or mulatto in this State of Delaware or else where after the said first day of January 1819 and I the said Betsey Wingate do hereby Warrant and forever defend the said grace Wingate her freedom (she behaving herself well according to the Laws of the State) from the claim or claims of me the said Betsey Wingate and my heirs Execs Admins and assigns after the said day above mentioned, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 18th day of January Eighteen hundred and Seven 1807.
