Know all men by these presents that I William Kindrick of Cedar Creek hundred in the County of Sussex and State of Delaware doth by these presents Manumate Emancipate liberate and set free the following Negro the Slave of me the said William Kendrick to wit Abner which is now about Thirty one years of age and now the said Abner shall be deemed and considered as a free person to all intents and purposes from me and my Heirs Executors or administrators or from any person or persons Claiming by from or under me In Witness whereof I the said William Kendrick have hereunto set my hand and Seal this the tenth day of April In the year of Our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and nine. 1809. Sussex County sst. Be it Remembered that on the Tenth day of April one Thousand Eight hundred and nine that William Kindrick of the County of Sussex in the State of Delaware came before me the subscriber one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace for the County afsd. and did in my presence Sign Seal and acknowledge the above and foregoing Emancipation and declared the same to be his act and Dead for the purposes therein mentioned given under my hand the day and year first above written, Thos.
