Negro Samuel Manumission from Ann T. Greer 1822

Know all men by these presents that I Ann T. Greer of the town of Milford county of Kent & State of Delaware for divers good causes & Considerations me hereunto moving do hereby manumit enfranchise & absolutely set free my negro man Samuel to be free & at his perfect liberty on the first day of January eighteen hundred & Twenty three at which time he will be about Twenty five years old and I do hereby warrant and defend the liberty & Freedom of the Said negro man Samuel from myself my heirs executors or administrators & from or under me In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my Seal this first day of January eighteen hundred & twenty two. Greer personally appeared before me Molton Rickard’s one of the Justices of the peace for Kent County in the State of Delaware affsd. and acknowledged the within manumission to be her act & deed for the use & purpose therein mentioned.
