Know all men by these presents that we Hannah Carrow and William Carrow of Dover Hundred in Kent county in the State of Delaware admrs of William Carrow late of the Said County deceased and whereas the said William Carrow had at the time of his death a certain Negro by Named Daniel left by said Carrow a Slave for life which Said boy Daniel was sold after the death of said Carrow by us the said Hannah Carrow and William Carrow Administrators aforesaid to John Craig of the hundred County and State aforesaid for the term of ten years from the tenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and whereas we think it wrong and oppressive to hold negroes in Abject Slavery do hereby Manumate and set free the Said Daniel after the expiration of ten years from the tenth day of April one thousand Eight hundred and twenty three and the freedom of the said Daniel from us or Either of us our heirs Executors administrators and assigns and from all and Every other person or Persons whatsoever claiming or hereafter to claim the said boy Daniel by through or under us our heirs Executors administrators or assigns will warrant and forever defend by these presents as witness our hands and Seals the Eighth day of December 1824. Kent County Sst I Benjamin Brady one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Said County that on the Eighth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and twenty four Personally appeared Hannah Carrow and William Carrow named in the foregoing Manumission and acknowledged the Same to be their act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned Given under my hand and Seal at Camden the Eighth day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.
