Manumission Negro Robert Boulden from Outten L Davis 1823

Know all men by these presents that I Outten L. Davis of Dover Hundred in the County of Kent and state of Delaware for Divers good Causes and considerations me thereunto moveing have released from slavery liberated manumated and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Robert Boulden being of the age of twenty eight years and able to work and gain a suficient Livelihood and mantainance and him the negro man named Robert Boulden I do declare to be henceforth free manumited  and discharge from all maner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever.

In testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this second day of september in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty three. Outten L. Davis {seal}

State of Delaware } Be it remembered that on this 2d day of September 1823

Kent County Sst. personally appeared outten L. Davis before me Jacob furbee one of the Justices of the peace in and for Kent County and acknowledged the above Manumission to be his act and Deed and desired it might be recorded as such. Jacob furbee

State of Delaware Kent County ss, I do certify that Jacob Furbe within named is one of the Justices of the peace of the state of Delaware in & for Kent County and that the within named Jacob furbee is his proper name and in his proper hand writing. In testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the supreme Court of the said state at Dover this 2d day of september in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.
