Negro Samuel Manumission from Jesse Green 1823

Know all men by these presents that I Jesse Green of Sussex County and State of Delaware do hereby discharge Emancipate and set free my negro man Called and known by the name of Samuel aged twenty Eight years in march next. As witness my hand and Seal the thirty first Day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty three. Jesse Green {seal}

Kent County Sst Be it remembered that on this fourth day of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty three Personally appeared Genl Jesse Green before me Jacob Furbee one of the Justices of the peace in and for Kent County and acknowledged the above and foregoing Manumition to be his act and deed and desired it might be recorded as such. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the day and year as above written. Jacob Furbee
