To all whom it may concern be it known that I Rachel Wilmer of Kent County and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto showing and also in further consideration of one Dollar Current money to me in hand paid do hereby release from Slavery Manumit and Set free my negro Girl Caroline daughter of  Ben and Rebecca Holt now Eleven years & nine months old from and after the first day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty three which negro Girl was the property of Edward P Wilmer Dec’d. I do hereby declare the Said Caroline Holt to be free manumited and discharged from all manner of Servitude or Service to me my heirs executors administrators or assigns from and after the expiration of the aforesaid time reserving nevertheless in the mean while my right to the Servitude and Service of the Said Caroline to me my Executors admrs and assigns untill the arrival of the aforesaid time In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this first Day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty. Received on the day of the date of the within mentioned Deed the Sum of one Dollar Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Rachel Wilmer. Witness Robert Wilson

State of Delaware Kent County.  Be it remembered that on this first day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty personally appears Rachel Wilmer party to the within Deed before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Delaware in and for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the Same to be her act and Deed and the negro therein named to be manumited and discharged from all Services to her or to any person claiming under her from and after the time therein mentioned according to the true intent and meaning of the Said Deed and the acts of Assembly in Such case made and provided and desired the Same to be recorded as Such.
