Negro John Salsbury Manumission from James Spear 1822

Know all men by these presents that I James Spear of Duck creek hundred Kent County and State of Delaware have for divers considerations there unto moving Manumitted and Set free my negro man named John Salisbury from and after the 20th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four he being about twenty six years of age at the present time Said John Salsbury is a bout five feet ten inches high very Stout made and of black complexion and was raised in my family. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the 20th day of  February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two. James Spear his mark {seal}

State of Delaware Be it Remembered that on this 20 day February 1822 personally appeared before me Jacob Furbee one of the Justices of the peace for Kent County James Spear and acknowledged the above and foregoing Manumission to be his act and deed and desired it might be recorded  as Such As witness my hand the 20th day of February A.D. 1822. Jacob Furbee
