Know all men by these presents that I Ann Cacey of Duck Creek hundred Kent County and State of Delaware for and in Consideration of two hundred Dollars lawfull money of the State afsd to me paid by William Kennedy of Smyrna in the hundred County & State afsd. the rect. whereof is hereby acknowledged hath sold unto the said William Kennedy his heirs and assigns one Molatto Man named Jacob for and during the full time or Term of seven years fully to be completed and ended from and after the date hereof if so long he the said Jacob Shall live and I do hereby warrent and defend the Said Jacob unto him the Said William Kennedy his heirs and assigns for and during the aforesaid Term or time of Seven years against all persons me my heirs Executors or admins now or hereafter claiming the Said Jacob and at the Expiration of the Said Seven years I do hereby absolutely manumit and set free the above named Jacob and there after declear him free from me my heirs Execrs and admins and all and every other person whatsoever with all the Preveleges that other free People of Color enjoy in this State. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this Sixteenth day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fourteen 1814. Ann Cacey her mark {seal}

Received Jany 11th 1820 of the within named Jacob full Satisfaction in Service for the within bill of Sale & I do hereby pro claim him free from myself my heirs or Executors In testimony whereof I have set my hand this day above written. WKennedy
