Know all men by these presents that I Martha Bussee for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Sam N. about twenty six years of age the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted Bargained sold aliened released and confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto the said Negro Sam, Son  of Moses Man late of Kent County in the State of Maryland together with all the right title interest claim property possession and demand whatsoever of me my executors or administrators of in and to the Said Negro Sam. to have and to hold the Said Negro Sam and all and Singular the premises above mentioned Unto him the Said Sam forever – In witness hereof I set my hand and Seal the twenty ninth day of October one thousand eight hundred and nineteen Martha Bussee {seal}

I do Certify that Martha Bussee did personally sign with her own hand and acknowledge the above instrument of  Manumission to be her act and deed and desired the Same to be recorded as such acknowledged before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Kent County in the State of Delaware the twenty ninth day of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.
