Know all men by these Presents That I Thomas Wainright of the village of Camden Kent County and State of Delaware do hereby Manumit and set absolutely free my Negro or mulatto girl named Milla now aged about Eighteen years: and her child named Harriot now aged about one year so that henceforth she the said Millah and her child Harriot shall be deemed adjudged and taken as and for free persons as fully as though they were free born without the Lett hendrance or molestation of any person whatsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty day of fourth month eighteen hundred and sixteen 1816. Thomas Wainright {seal}

Kent County Sst. Be it Remembered that the above named Thomas Wainright party to the above manumission Personally appeared before me Nathaniel Smithers one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Delaware for Kent County and did acknowledge the above Instrument of writing as his act & Deed for the uses & purposes therein mentioned – In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the Twenty seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred & Sixteen Nathl Smithers
