Negro Sarah Manumission from Richard Cooper Esqr 1816

Know all men by these Presents that I Richard Cooper of Kent County State of Delaware being actuated by benevolent & conscienceis principles Manumated liberated and forever set free and by these presents do manumate liberate and forever set free my Negro Woman called Sarah to commence and be accounted from the day of the date hereof and whose liberty and freedom I do hereby warrant and defend against myself my heirs executors administrators and assigns forever. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Twelth day of June In the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and Sixteen. Richd Cooper {seal}
