Negro Rose & child Manumission from George Cummins 1811

To all persons to whom these presents shall come, Know ye, That I George Cummins of Duck creek hundred in the County of Kent and State of Delaware Have Manumitted and freed and by these presents doth manumit and free the following Named Negros at the Several times herein after mentioned to wit, Negro woman Rose aged about Twenty two years (who I bought at the sale of Joseph Latchem property and was formerly the Property of Thomas Pattison dec’d) on the seventh day of March which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and eighteen her female child maria aged about ten month on the first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and Eleven. 1811. George Cummins {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County Sst. I do hereby certify that on the Fourteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said county personally appeared George  Cummins and acknowledged the within Manumission to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned.
